We are a traditional church program filled with members seeking an untraditional spiritual experience for ourselves as well as our community. We invite you to visit us one Sabbath and get to know our church family. We have a potluck on the first Saturday of the month, and our members plan a special church meal on the 3rd Sabbath of the month.
Most folks know about us because of World War II war hero Desmond Doss, who spent most of his life serving and attending our small church. He helped launch a school here at one point and always had a burden for young people, as evidenced by his travels to Pathfinder meetings around the world. Our fellowship hall, in fact, was the school room that helped guide many mountain youth to Jesus and provide a Christian education alternative to families here on the mountain.
Pastor Rudy and Estelle Skoretz serve our church, chosen by the couple following their retirement as our only full time pastor that our church has known in recent history. Traditionally, our church as been shared with the Rossville Church. We are fortunate as Pastor Rudy also served for much of his life as an evangelist, bringing a unique presence and personality to our worship programs and church life.

“I came to our mountain church almost 30 years ago. I’ve watched families come and go. I attended school in the small, wood-stove heated room that is now our fellowship hall. I’ve seen pastors come and go. I’ve watched our members move away and pass away. And though the church today only represents a hand-full of the original group I first met, it is, indeed, as close to family in my life as I’ll ever know.”
