We’ve thought about changing BBQ locations for years, but we never imagined theft of our equipment as well as vandalism would nearly end this summer’s BBQ.  As it is, with less than two months away, we need community support in order to maintain an annual tradition that has raised more than $2.5 million.  The Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home has graciously allowed us to relocate our BBQ fundraiser to their Lee Highway location.

But we need lots more help in order to catch up.  And the best way to help at this point, would be to click on the donation link at the bottom of this page and send us a little support. AND, commit to buying some tickets. After all, it’s not for us.  It’s for the children we serve here inside the communities where you live and work.

We exist because our community has needs, sometimes desperate, and we work to address those needs in a variety of ways. Sometimes we build a garden needed by children and their families. we build a playground. Sometimes we renovate space for a local ministry needing to implement a special program within their walls. We work alongside kids to help improve their grades. We read to children inside area schools. We work alongside teens and show them the rewards and value in giving back to their community. And we raise tens of thousands of dollars during our annual BBQ to support many worthy groups in town. In short, you will find Kiwanians everywhere, and the Kiwanis Club of Brainerd is filled with many of them.

For those who have been members of the club for many years, our group has become a true family in every sense of the word. We sing together. Pray together. Eat together. And serve together.

Our members know that there is more to this life than work and home. While the needs in any community can be overwhelming, we are only attempting to make a difference one person, one child, one family at a time.
